Rigid PCB Clone

Release Date:May 27, 2026

Rigid PCB clone is one of the most common and widely used PCB reverse engineering services, focusing on replicating rigid printed circuits that are widely applied in various electronic devices, including computers, industrial control equipment, power supplies, and communication devices. Rigid PCBs are made of rigid substrates (such as FR-4) that provide structural stability and support for components, and their cloning process is mature and efficient, ensuring high accuracy and reliability.

The process of rigid PCB clone starts with the disassembly and cleaning of the original board to remove dust, solder residue, and damaged components. Then, high-resolution scanning equipment is used to capture clear images of the top and bottom layers of the PCB. For multi-layer rigid PCBs, X-ray scanning or layer peeling techniques are used to expose the internal layers, ensuring that all routing and via information is captured. Engineers then use EDA software to trace the copper routes, identify component footprints, and reconstruct the entire layout, including silk screen marks, pad positions, and board outline.

After the clone design is completed, DRC checks are conducted to ensure that the layout meets manufacturing standards, such as trace width, spacing, and via size. The cloned PCB is then fabricated using standard rigid PCB production processes, including etching, drilling, and soldering. Professional manufacturers also conduct strict quality testing, including continuity testing, insulation testing, and functional testing, to ensure that the cloned PCB is consistent with the original in terms of performance and reliability. Rigid PCB clone services are widely used in product maintenance, prototype reproduction, and batch production, helping enterprises reduce costs and maintain production continuity, especially for legacy products with discontinued original PCBs.
